Let's start on my first interview experience.....
After around 2 months of lepak-ing and particularly not doing anything,on one fine day,I decided to submit my resume to jobstreet.com and few other organisations that I intend to work for. Those are mostly financial institutions and multinational companies.
After a few days,I received a call from an agency called "Talent Lab". They asked me to come for an interview on Tuesday (11/5/2010) (can't really remember the date actually but I'm confident enough that it was on Tuesday)..hehe.. The morning before the interview, I went to my uni to get my partial transcript and a letter saying that I've completed my degree programs since I have not with my convocation that time.
At around 1.30 pm I made my way there. The session gonna start at 2.3opm.I wore my GAP striped pants and a white ESPRIT shirt with my black pearl earrings.I decided to be smart casual on that day:)I could still remember mama brought me there as I was afraid that I couldn't locate the place and also because I'm pretty sure that it is so hard to get a parking space in Bangsar at that particular hour. I was given a folded paper with a volcano picture on it.All candidates are given 2 minutes to talk on their picture. So, I considered myself lucky as that time i just read about the volcano in Iceland that caused many airports in Europe to close and one of my cousins stucked in Rome for about a week because of that. So, i told them about it. I guess that"s what brought me over for the next round.
Next round was a one-to one interview with the recruiter. We chat a bit about myself and my course. And one thing that I could still remember during that session is when he asked me "do u prefer to be on the front line or at the back?" and I answered "i like to sit at my desk and just do my job".Then, he replied "but it seems like you are bubbly and I think you are suitable to be in the front line and meeting people". As I think of it, I guess that person was right. I like meeting people and being exposed and i believe that i made a good choice of accepting this job :)
Towards the end of the session, he told me to wait for around 2 weeks if I can make it to the next round. And the next round will be a session with Maybankers at Starbucks and it is called CATPAS (Coffee And Tea At Starbucks). So,that was my first experience on the job interview. I went down and mama was still there waiting. I love you, ma :)
Toddles for now.
xoxo,
DEENA:)
